September 25, 2024, Rochester, N.Y. – On Wednesday, Anthony Jordan Health Corporation announced that after nearly seven months of negotiations, it’s reached a tentative agreement with employees part of 1199 SEIU. 1199 SEIU represents approximately 20% of Jordan Health employees. The agreement includes an incremental wage increase of nearly 12% which will be spread out over the next 3 years. The increases will happen in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Jordan Health is committed to improving patient access to care while supporting staff despite only being reimbursed 70% of the cost of care for Medicaid patients. At the same time, larger healthcare systems have received increases in their reimbursement rates from New York State.
This latest tentative agreement showcases Jordan Health’s continued dedication to its staff and the Greater Rochester community.
“This 3-year agreement is a win/win for our patients, our employees, and ultimately our community,” said Dr. Linda Clark, Jordan Health’s president and CEO. “We are dedicated to ensuring every staff member receives a fair wage while remaining fiscally responsible. Jordan Health is also committed to the career development and support of all our employees which leads to our ability to provide high-quality care for our patients regardless of their ability to pay. This agreement showcases the spirit of collaboration as it takes all of us working together in unity to improve the overall health of our community.”
The new contract is retroactive to January 2024 and expires December 2026.
